Agreed. Cherry picking from trunk is no option. For being able to do
this one either needs feature branches or some strict rules for commit
message (for instance "always refer to the relevant RFCs") so one can
filter the commits properly.
Changing to such a model doesn't belong in a discussion with "5.4" in
the subject.
johannes
