But I know now how we can do the <base> stuff with nice true values. We can use the configuration arrays and values. The sendmanualheaders() call includes the language, the page is in and the manualheader() call includes the filename. So we just need to glues these together to print out the <base> tag: <base href="$MYSITE/manual/$lang/$filename"> where $lang is remembered from the sendmanualheaders() call, and $filename is a parameter of manualheader(), so it is right there available.
This is fixed. Now there is only one request for a short URL if a manual page is found. However to make this work for
http://php.net/links too (which is a PHP page), we need to go back to use include_once (to let that page work with direct access and URL shortcuts too).
So the question is if a hash lookup (include_once) is better then an additional Apache request (redirection). I guess having a hash lookup is a better solution. So we need to live with include_once then to have sort URLs work without redirection, while real URLs also need to work.
Anything against using include_once again? [Rasmus and others had converted some include_once and require_once statements to include lately].
