I enter this discussion may be too late, but if you are having problem with
the integration of a cache system in IT project, why not choosing a more
'open' solution like the one i've used for PHPTAL :
- make an IT cache Interface that everyone can implement with its prefered
cache system,
- make some ready to use cache plugins (Cache_Lite for example),
- let the user choose which plugin to use or implement its own for
specific boost performance,
- even virtually shake your hands and have a drink together.
