In order to keep it simple too, why not add everything else from Alexey's version but cache at the moment. There are sensitive additions in his version (new most needed accessor methods) I would really like to see in ITX, possibly before the next two months.

I never disagreed to make a patch for current ITX with these methods, BTW.
