This is correct until a certain point. But everybody should be aware of
the fact that there will always be leaders in every project and that
they will make the final rules. It's simply impossible to satisfy the
needs and wishes of *everybody*.

Please don't set up yet another RfC. My main concern about the PEAR
meeting is, that there will be zillions of people on IRC with a zillion
of different opinions, how all want to broadcast their opinion of how
PEAR should be. This will make the whole meeting absolutely useless.

I know that this sounds a bit rude, but what do you think of making the
IRC channel invite-only? This way we can concentrate on the essential
things like Christian's PFC suggestion.
