I doubt it too, unless people start using it and notice bugs. :) I plan to use it to parse an exchange rate feed from the Bank of Canada, so it still has use at least until XML can be imported and exported from everything instead. (Just an interesting tidbit: the UN is making a seb services section of its site with SOAP.)
have a look at www.php.net/fgetcsv - for the most part File_CSV is redundant (Except in exceptional cases where the file cannot be handled by the build in functions..
But since File is marked as "stable" I guess we can't remove CSV from File. The only solution to me seems a dependency from File to File_CSV?
Yes, but we could make it optional, and you'd only *have* to install it if you're using it, which it doesn't sound like many people are. A short note (but longer than the one that mentions CSV in the package description!) in the documentation and the changelog might be enough.
By the way: In CSV.php there is the function _dbgBuff() which is marked "for internal use" and "will be removed in the future". If you're moving File_CSV maybe this could also be done in one step.
I'm not sure what this is for, or whether it still has use. I'll let Tomas decide on that one.
