The role of the PEAR Group is somewhere else (I don't know where, but you might know better). So now, just click on the button that says "Validate this proposal" and let's all continue our work. Thank you.
I dont know why everyone assumes that the group has evil intent instead of if there might have been another more plausible reason. Anyways I think its becoming pointless if everybody thinks that the group is just some inner circle on a power trip. So I guess we might as well kill it off.
I don't think that Bertrand option reflects anything else than his own point of view.
Anyways pear-dev has the assume PEPr system to put anything to a vote any of its members feel like having a vote on. I suggest that those people that feel that the group has become a separate entity which is forcing their opinions into pear-dev start an RFC to get the group removed.
Right but few developers, regardless on how good they are, shouldn't be in the position to decide, whenever they like, if the Group is necessary or not (and this perhaps if it doesn't fit within their own concept of urgent approval for a new package).
To me the purpose was to help pear-dev work efficiently, but I have better things to do then having to deal with these constant accusations. I dont know what the majority feels like, however the majority is sure not defending the group either ..
I don't think that the group should get too touched by one developer impatient about his own package etc. The majority doesn't often reply because it doesn't fit within the "political" discussion. They are just doing their best for the their package and this is what pear is about. in PEAR there is a Group which has the right of veto on new packages. There is really nothing to argue about, php.net email had some problems, so all these accusation like "are you in vacation" or "now click the button" are ridiculous.
so I guess I have to assume that the majority doesnt care.
I wouldn't assume that, I would just say that a minority has his own view of PEAR. This doesn't mean that PEAR should change in the way THEY want. Cheers David Costa
