Lets just say I am begining to care less about who feels what way. Being on he group has become essentially a job I would rather not do anymore since I dont feel like having to defend the groups existance on a daily basis. Alternatively I can just begin to ignore those emails but I dont feel comfortable with that either, since leaving these things unanswered on pear-dev leaves this as a fact to all newcomers, lurkers or archive readers. Finally these accustations actually come in impressive numbers these days. It seems to me like the group will not be able to mediate (since nobody trusts us anyways), will not be able to provide long term advice (because everybody feels we are just ego patting), nor will it be a good place for outside entities to contact PEAR since by and large pear-dev could care less about what we say. I think our current usefulness is in providing a great punching bag for anyone in PEAR to complain about what they feel is currently not optimal in PEAR. Thats a job I didnt accept when Stig asked me to join the group. Anyways I will ponder this some more and will decide if I resign from the group in about 2 weeks. regards, Lukas Smith smith@backendmedia.com _______________________________ BackendMedia www.backendmedia.com berlin@backendmedia.com Linn Zwoch Smith GbR Pariser Str. 44 D-10707 Berlin Tel +49 30 83 22 50 00 Fax +49 30 83 22 50 07To me the purpose was to help pear-dev work efficiently, but I have better things to do then having to deal with these constant accusations. I dont know what the majority feels like, however the majority is sure not defending the group either ..I don't think that the group should get too touched by one developer impatient about his own package etc. The majority doesn't often reply because it doesn't fit within the "political" discussion. They are just doing their best for the their package and this is what pear is about.
