This is where we meet each other :) I think the keyword is : coupling. A framework tries to integrate everything in a system. In the PEAR bazaar, I think it's more a matter of : how do I plug package X into package Y ? See, that's exactly what this thread is all about. It makes me wonder if it wouldn't be nice to have a new package category : Glue. Then you could have : - Glue_DataGrid_DataObject - Glue_HTMLMenu_XMLSerializer - Glue_DataGrid_ServicesAmazon - Glue_Etc... Additionally, there could be specific resources about coupling. Some coupling wiki, or something, where one could find some recipes for given "couples". -- ogI've never used an integrated framework. I looked thoroughly at BinaryCloud a while ago, but it did not attract me. Maybe is this a Cathedral and Bazaar issue. And, as an integrated framework, .NET for sure belongs to the former category, while PEAR is more on the Bazaar side.Which is precisely what I like about PEAR :-)
