Nice idea, easy to use. But the function names should be
setHeaderContents() (as it is now), setBodyContents() and
setFooterContents().

How about allowing the $row and $col params in
set{Header/Body/Footer/Cell}Contents() to be null? E.g.: If $col = null
then the content should go in every col of the specified row.
Accordingly for the cases $row = null and ($row = null && $col = null).
This would reduce the "shitload of extra functions" ((c) by Helgi *g*)
to only two new functions (setBodyContents() and setFooterContents()).
