It would make it harder to test while coding, but if you constantly install the package before testing, you don't have to worry about that. So basically, name the directory something *other* than cvs and let the installer put the files in the CVS directory. It works. A (perhaps) stupid question: is the avail format used for anything else but CVS? In other words, could it also be used for subversion? If it can be used for *anything* else, I think VersionControl_Avail would be the best package name :) Klaus
