anatoly techtonik (http://pear.php.net/user/techtonik) has commented on the proposal for File
Formats::File_Karma.
Comment:
Source code seems to be offline. Some suggestions to make this piece of
code really useful:
File_CVSAvail is better than File_Karma or File_Avail. Maybe not as
pretty, but functional and doesn't mess with distribution in directory
called CVS. it is also ok with me to keep the name as File_Avail, but
state that this is for handling special CVS administration file.
To make it usable some actions should be taken first:
pearweb:
- modify cvs_acl table to include status of access
(request/allowed/reclined) and exact package;
- add cvs_acl_history table to track dates and users who made access
added/removed;
- ad cron job to sync cvs_acl with cvs.php.net avail;
- mails to pear/php group if any developer modify his/her CVS Access in
PEAR web profile;
- mails to package maintainers/leads, who are responsible for this
package;
- web-interface for this File_Avail to allow/decline CVS access;
web-interface:
- can be used by:
- package maintainers;
- pear/php group with CVSROOT avail;
file_avail:
- tune to use not "avail" file, but "pear_avail" for security reasons -
see below;
cvs.php.net/cvsroot:
- modify cvs_acls file to append pear_avail file to avail before
processing and check if every meaningful line of pear_avail ends with path
inside pear directory - for the same security reasons; - regexp for the
check should be !^avail\|[\w,]+\|(pear/\w+,?)+$!
