Bonjour,
If I'm getting it right, this install-pear-nozlib.phar is built using http://cvs.php.net/viewcvs.cgi/pear-core/make-installpear-nozlib-phar.php
You need just this script and PHP_Archive (apparently the cvs for the moment) to run the build.
As *data*, it will use the 3 "fundamental" packages as .tar , uncompressed archives:
PEAR.tar , Archive_Tar.tar and Console_Getopt.tar what you can download as last stable with
pear -Z xxxx
In any case all that is archived as packages for PHP_Archive , PEAR , Archive_Tar and Console_Getopt.
For example, you can get the PEAR-1.4.8 tar with
pear -Z pear-1.4.8
And for the builder script , I think the cvs is public.
Now, all that stuff is quite fresh , so no garanty it's yet 100% functional.
Nothing official here , only what I could understand...
Regards

We'd spotted that but we weren't sure whether it was "official" and/or consistently updated. Being a PHAR, it's also hard to determine at a glance what version that is, which doesn't help and coincidentally leads onto my comments below. This is always updated to the latest and greatest PEAR of the moment. In fact, this is what is used to create the snapshots for PHP 5.1.OK cool. Now for a small request then. Are the releases archived anywhere? Whilst not absolutely essential, it's very useful to be able to go back and retrieve older versions for whatever reason. Additionally, RPM spec files normally contain a link to the upstream source, which is supposed to be a link to the actual source for the version you're building (so that others can download and reproduce), not an ever-changing version. For example, we'd like to put: Source0: http://pear.php.net/somepath/install-pear-nozlib-1.4.9.phar for the spec file for PEAR 1.4.9 (well, we'd macroize the version, but that's irrelevant here) So, is there a place we can already point to for this? If not, any possibility of that? (Note I'm not asking for a change in the existing URL; I would simply suggest that pear.php.net/install-pear-nozlib.phar remains as a copy of/symlink to the current version)Beware that .phar will not work with PHP < 5.1,Yep, that's not a problem for current releases of Fedora (which is what we're primarily interested in) as they ship PHP 5.1.x and the php-pear specfile explicitly BuildRequires: php >= 5.1. Thanks! Tim
