Hi everyone,
One tool that seems to be popping up in several requests is a wiki.
Until we get upgraded hardware, this is out of the question for
technical reasons, but the good news is that upgraded hardware is
imminent, stay tuned for details (a few of us are hard at work off-list
to implement important changes in areas such as this one).
In the past, there was debate about the merits of a wiki for PEAR. I am
primarily concerned about wiki spam, and about centralizing information.
Those who have experience with wikis, how would you solve these two
problems?
1) making sure the thing isn't inundated with spam
2) making sure that it is both simple and easy to search both the
pear-dev mailing list and the wiki for information, and to link back and
forth between the two.
Incidentally, my experience with forum software is that it is basically
a poor excuse for a mailing list with a good archival tool, so I am not
in favor of this.
Thanks,
Greg
