I agree that we need to organize and prioritize activity and ideas. I
disagree that "no one seems to want to discuss or actually try to oranize
anything"...
Recent (day or two) discussion on this list about web site issues has
spurred active work directly on web site improvements. Greg Beaver and a
handful of others are actively working:
- hardware for the server
- web site (the implementation needs to be fixed so it's easier for user to
contribute to the web site)
These two steps are difficult for "all of us" to work on. Once progress is
made, we can begin prioritizing/rethinking/bagging/whatever ideas like. A
wiki, a forum, improvements to documentation, "working groups" or empowered
categories -- or any of a number of other ideas that went up (pictures
flares) in the last day or two.
I suggest:
We [the entire community] continue working in the frameworks we have at the
moment. (No tossing out of babies with the bathwater!) So we work in the
mailing lists. We work in the proposal system. (Anyone: Any other de facto
communication tools we already use that I'm oblivious to?)
To wit, I just submitted a PEPr proposal RFC.
