Everybody keeps saying this....why doesn't anyone just try it? Just set up your news client to go to news.php.net, subscribe to a group, and post!
I regularly use the NNTP gateway to read. And no, you can't post. At least, mozilla thunderbird spurts out this error: posting failed - invalid from. I can, and regularly do, post via the pear-general email address.
