Justin, imho there are quite some people who would like to read/write the ID3 info of a mp3 file to create some kind of database or something like that but I think less people need the audio-data itself. Since linking to an external library might easily lead to problems (is it available on any platform, howmuch do different versions differ, ...), I think it would be good to have at least a standalone id3 info package, which doesn't require an external lib.
