I just found this thread today, but I just thought I'd mention that I
actually have written an ID3 extension for PHP and have kind of been
sitting on it for a while. It's pretty much complete and is based on
id3lib.
If you'd like to take a look at it, I'll post the source or something. I've
been kind of busy and haven't been able to do anything with it, but if
anybody else wants to contribute or do something with it, I can probably
just put it into PECL.
Currently it has something like 40 or 50 functions for manipulating ID3
tags, both v1 and v2 and presumably any version that id3lib can handle.
It's not 100% complete yet, but it can handle everything from tags to
frames and fields and such.
Lemme know if there's any interest in perhaps combining forces or
something...
