No matter the operating system you are using, windows or unix, 5.2
extensions are not compatible with 5.3.
About compiling "zip" or other questions you asked earlier, you may be
confused between pear's packages, which are about PHP scripts and
pecl's packages, which contain source codes to compile PHP extension
(DLL on windows, so on linux, etc.).
