You must install the SDK first to avoid an issue caused by the SDK
service pack. The SDK service pack overwrites without version checking
some files which are newer in VC9 SP2.

I'm not an expert here, but I installed VC first and then the SDK and
got issues.
Wiped installation. Installed SDK first then VC and all was well.
