How often when | proposing PHP have you been asked "What other companies use PHP?", or | better yet "Why not just use Microsoft's ASP, it has professional | support?", or "isn't that technology open source, that's not very | reliable, is it?" I think if you can convince Apache group to include a mini-PHP in their standard distribution, that would a big plus for PHP (and for Apache too, of course!). IIS comes with ASP, Roxen comes with its own language (Pike, I think). Yes I also like the idea that web server should be a web server and a programming language a programming language. But there is nothing wrong with the engine being in Apache standard distro which can be upgraded with the latest version or simply can be extended through shared objects (.so) which are loaded once on Apache startup, thus no affect on speed. Just came into my mind and I thought I should share the (silly probably?) idea with you guys! Enjoy! Faisal
