The more I've played with this, the more I believe the php_oci8.dll compiled in php4.0.2dev ONLY works with 8i (8.1.6 at least). Perhaps the compilation of the dll with php is specific to whatever oracle version was installed on the build machine? Daniel, any thoughts on that? Anyway... for those still having problems connecting to Oracle with the php_oci8, the FIRST STEP is to download and install the oracle 8.1.6 client from http://technet.oracle.com. Mind you, this is a BIG download, so be prepared to do this overnight if you don't have a fast net connection. Then you can move on to installing php4.0.2dev from napp - http://www.php4win.de Vince, maybe we could pool resources on that article (as Daniel asked me to put something together for the napp site).
