Hey Anant, long time... Suggestions: 1) Kill the exclamation mark 2) GTK+ not Gtk+, and link to it 3) Is there support for 2.12? Last time I looked it only went up to 2.10, but admittedly it's been a while since I looked so that might just be me. 4) s/versions 2.8 upwards/more recent versions than 2.8 5) 'discuss issues related to the release at the development mailing list'.... ?! - Steph ps Andrei I'll have free time tomorrow. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anant Narayanan" <anant@kix.in> To: "Andrei Zmievski" <andrei@gravitonic.com> Cc: "Steph Fox" <steph@zend.com>; "Elizabeth M Smith" <auroraeosrose@gmail.com>; "PHP-GTK dev" <php-gtk-dev@lists.php.net> Sent: Saturday, January 19, 2008 5:30 PM Subject: Re: [PHP-GTK-DEV] Release?
Hi,
Just checking in..
Here's a draft release announcement. There's not much content (frankly, there's nothing much to say ;)) - but I think it gets the message across. Feel free to suggest additions or changes. If everyone's ready, we could tag and release on sunday. -- After almost two and a half years of development, we are proud to release version 2.0 of PHP-GTK! This release marks PHP-GTK 2 as stable and comes with support for Gtk+ versions 2.6 through 2.12. Although support for versions 2.8 upwards is not 100% complete, we hope to cover as much of the API as possible in upcoming releases. This release comes with support for custom GTypes and Signals, more API coverage, and the usual slew of bug fixes. Take a look at the Changelog for detailed information on changes since the beta. We hope you will enjoy developing applications with PHP-GTK 2. Please don't hesitate to file bug reports at the bug tracker, or discuss issues related to the release at the development mailing list. Have fun! -- Cheers, Anant
