I think you mean beyond 2.10. We've already given out 2.10 for previous versions. Backtracking now would be *bad*.
Sure we can still give out versions 2.10 and 2.12 but the primary focus should still be on something we can reasonably support. We did give out a 2.8 tarball last time, in *addition* to the 2.10 one.
Hm, I think Bob's focusing on Windows here, which _was_ purely 2.10.
Oh, indeed - My mistake. I thought we had a 2.8 tarball for Windows too. I guess that means we can't go below 2.10 then.
What's with the differently-labelled src tarballs? Or was that prior to versioning?
That was to hide a bug from the users - the 2.10 includes would not allow the 2.8 version to compile. The 2.8 source tarball had the 2.10 includes manually commented out before release. The bug has been fixed now, though.
