My bad - the idea wasn't to suffix names with 2, but to prefix them with php_gtk_ (in line with our .dll naming conventions). The idea being to prevent third-party library collisions.

I can change PHP-GTK to output php-gtk2.so if we so desire (but the extension .so's will not be versioned this way). -Andrei On Feb 22, 2008, at 5:42 PM, Steph Fox wrote:Hi Andrei, As far as I'm aware, Elizabeth currently is the only person equipped to roll the official doze stuff for PHP-GTK. I can manage most things, but PHP-GTK has so many dependencies and I have so much 'stuff' floating around on my creaking system I'm bound to end up missing half the package out. That's what happened last time, and that's why I don't want to repeat the experience :) maybe when I get my next laptop I'll think about this before installing every *nix/win32 port known to man in root. Bob and Anant were talking at some point about renaming PHP-GTK extension .so files to have a 2 on the end. I can't recall if anyone got around to actually doing this. If it requires changes to PHP-GTK sources I'll need to adapt win32 build system to deal with it prior to beta-tagging. I also would like to know if anyone tested the changes I made to Elizabeth's GD 'hack' for Windows, since I actually don't know how to test it... - Steph ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrei Zmievski" <andrei@gravitonic.com> To: "PHP-GTK dev" <php-gtk-dev@lists.php.net> Sent: Friday, February 22, 2008 4:04 PM Subject: Re: [PHP-GTK-DEV] Release?-- PHP-GTK Development Mailing List (http://gtk.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.phpSince I haven't heard any "no"'s, I'll be making a release tarball next week.
