PHP 6 will come with some big changes. We could have a compat flag that supports old-style classes PhpDate if needed. In any case, it's premature as we don't have this yet and it's not relevant to PHP 5. I just wanted to Fyi that it's something to consider.
It _is_ relevant to PHP 5, because it needs to be taken into consideration in any decisions that are taken regards naming conventions at this point. There's a big difference between Php::Date and Php::PhpDate, aesthetically, intuitively and in sheer terms of name length. (Assuming that's what you meant anyway.) There's a fairly big difference between Date and PhpDate too, come to that... - Steph
