Yes, but it will be as per your wish to be there, right? In that case, it
only strenghtes my claim: You want to redirect people from the main site,
and from the main site alone...
I wanted to add, about automatic redirection, the following idea:
in the main page we can add a check to see if a variable, say,
"dontredirectme" is set, and in that case, display the page
normally, even if there is a mirror.
Then, in case it was not set, output something like:
"The php.net website is mirrored on many physical locations, worldwide.
According to our records, you are located in <country>, and we have an
active mirror site of the PHP.net website in that <country>.
Browsing the php.net site from your own country will make your browsing
experience better, thanks to a higher speed. Also, you will help reducing
the load on the main PHP.net website.
Therefore, you will now be redirected to http://<cntry-code>.php.net.
If you _do not_ wish to be redirected, please <a href="<? echo
$PHP_SELF."?dontredirectme=1"; ?> ">click here</a>
Or something of that kind... :-)
