You didn't come up with a real solution yet.
The main problem is: Your completely new version migh have
other BC issues one can't see at the moment. So please
provide patches against current CVS, so they can be reviewed
and declared stable and non-BC breaking.
We don't have to prove, that your new package breaks BC,
you have to prove, that it does not!
