Point well taken, and as such I would agree toward such a rule, even with the rolling back of packages to un-stable states until they get their act together. - Stan Katana wrote:

But the absence of rules in the past is not a good reason to avoid creating rules, don't you think ? However, I'm repeating me, but I think that A LOT of users will simply pear uninstall package and go look somewhere else or even worse: write their own script / class / function / crap... I still believe that PEAR is here for PHP users to use it, and not for PEAR developers or very enthusiast developers. Blame me if you want :) Katana
