Would the most important factor for shops not to convert from a IIS, SQL
Server , NT , ASP environment to a Linux, MySQL , Perl, PHP, Apache solution
be the Mysql database is not fully transactional. It seems that for the long
term this would be a superior course than trying to get PHP and other nicer
development tools that run better on Linux to work on NT.

developing for Linux or Unix. Developing for mulit threaded environments is
more dificult, and I'm sure you will see the same troubles when you start to
write applications for Apache 2.0 running as a multithreaded server !
