Sure. It allows you to interface with more database types. Only drawback is
ODBC is a bit slower than working with the native database functions in PHP,
like for Postgree and MySQL.
Basically, you need to create a SYSTEM DSN for each database you want to
connect to. Then, connect to it using the odbc_connect() function. At that
point you can use the odbc_exec() function, etc, to work with the data.
If you need specific questions answered, you'll need to let us know what you
want to konw. Also, when asking, explain which OS you're on and which
database type you're trying to connect to.
