Right. That's one of the issues. However it should be stated here that
most GTK+ widgets from 1.2.* are still present, even if many are deprecated,
in 2.*. It doesn't take a great deal of time to look at the source headers
to see which are and are not marked as deprecated or broken, and it's likely
that PHP-GTK 2 will need to enable both if it wants to maintain BC.

Completing the existing manual (and expanding it when we see PHP-GTK 2)
would be a darn sight more sane than producing a new reference area
completely - I don't understand the logic of that, At All!
Versioning in the PHP manual is controlled via a script Hartmut Holzgraefe
made some years ago - we use it on zend.com too to display versioned
function information. It might be worth asking for his assistance when
we're looking at covering PHP-GTK 2; I'm not at all sure yet how we're going
to approach documenting it, but that's one option. Another would be
parallel documentation efforts, but if we couldn't gather the man-power to
complete the first set of docs TBH I think it'd be crazy to start again from
scratch.
It's a good time to see people discussing this stuff, and particularly it's
a good time to get people on board with contributions. I think we all know
that when PHP-GTK 2 does turn up, there's likely to be a huge upsurge of
interest in it. We also all agree that the existing documentation and site
aren't inspiring. The question is, who's available and willing to put some
work into making it more presentable/welcoming than it currently is?
