Christian has a point here. Why should anyone decide to publish his package through PEAR, if he has to fear that one day people might be unsatisfied with the way your package is being developed, and so they will start to rip it apart, not listen to your suggestions and replace your original package with their own? The same goes for people who want to help developing an existing package - why should they do that if there´s always the possibility that some day someone has a "great idea"(tm), convinces lots of other people on the list to do things his way and replace the package you´ve been working on so far with his own? This can´t be the way. In fact, it *must not* be the way.Well, I didn't really want to reiterate the whole stuff again, but here goes: 1) The author of HTML_Template_IT[X] is Ulf Wendel, not Pierre-Alain Joye. 2) Pierre-Alain Joye is just the maintainer: the only development he ever did to HTML_Template_IT[X] was renaming the classes from IntegratedTemplate and IntegratedTemplateExtension to HTML_Template_IT and HTML_Template_ITX respectively and preparing a release through PEAR. And now there is my work, that 1) Can not be used to replace the current HTML_Template_IT[X], because the maintainer is against it; 2) Can not be commited as a new package, because you are against duplicate stuff in PEAR. Now, would you like me to just disappear, so that there were no difficult questions to solve?
