For the GUI's we are currently using http://www.treemenu.org/
We also tried Hiermenu (http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/hiermenus/)
for the dropdowns but as it isn't free it isn't that sexy :)
I think one in my team currently works on outputting the nested set for
use with the Macromedia PopUp code.
Maybe it would be a good idea to contribute that outside of pear.
