MDB != access file format :-)
MDB is merge of PEAR DB and Metabase.

There is already a PEAR DB wrapper for MDB.
Of course a modified version of DB_NestedSet would be a separate package
as a container approach is probably not feasible. The same thing was
done with DB_QueryTool.
