No we are not.
PHPLIB is not an abstraction layer for all I know. Its probably faster
as PEAR::DB for the same reasons as stated in the link Tomas's message
to the ml I pasted earlier in this thread.
Anyways I really dont see a need for more than 2 packages here.
1) to handle differences in the ext API's
2) one that also handles differences in the SQL
Anything beyond that is bloating PEAR imho.
Also having a version with phplib's API is not what we need in PEAR.
A wrapper is all that would make sense to provide there (which will
probably eat 10-20% performance I would say).
