Because I don't *care* about MySQL driver, but do care about PostgreSQL. Simple enough to understand?

This can be fixed. The oracle driver, for example, uses oracle sequences.

Fix it, then. There is no need to push the stuff into PEAR before fixing, is there?

I tried to use the stuff some time (well, a lot of time) ago, but switched to PEAR::DB when it became usable and never looked back.
So I would suggest you fresh up your knowledge and then come back.

I suggest not to try flaming with me. I looked at the current PHPLib (7.4pre2) before writing this.
