Ok, it's not something you would expect to see in a code library, but it will not interfere in anyway with the rest of PEAR. It only benefits from the (future :) centralized packaging, installing, documentation and updating of the PEAR repository, a Good Thing© if you ask me :] If it's there, you wont have to download and install the package if you dont want to! You wouldn't even know it's out there, it wont affect you or your or pear setup in any way.
