This all ties in together. I don't envision us to spend hours pondering approving a package. This is just a way to make sure that things go smoothly and especially that newcomers do things right. If a newcomer misunderstands the process and uploads a package that isn't accepted we have a mess. Furthermore in those cases where we think or have seen (by -1 votes) that there is reason for doubt it would be nice to quickly get to those votes and the reasons that where stated there. Finally we don't see a reason to rush acceptance of packages. We hope that every proposal gets peer review and a good name. Also we are trying to get rid of issues where someones +1 becomes obsolete because of a request by someone else. So the idea is to have things worked out as much as possible before the actual voting takes place. > As I saw things like these comming, I changed the my personal proposal > process starting with my current package XML_RDDL. I am not yet sure of we have the approval flag added. And I would say that this proposal process applies to all proposals currently underway. Of course this is "paperwork" but remember the aims of PEAR. We will try to reduce the amount of paperwork, but unfortunately some regulations are needed to make this entire process manageable and qa'able. Regards, Lukas
