The point is: 1) Make clear that only active developers with a PEAR account can vote. 2) active MEMBERS of a community are not the same as active DEVELOPERS in a community. To help people using PEAR, write articles on magazines about PEAR, tell people about the usefulness of PEAR isn't about developing, but in my view that makes the guy part of the community, and a active part of the community, dont you think? Either being a developer or not. > > Linux has a different approach with even less chance to influence things > if you look at it correctly. > > You are saying why bother to vote if you are not counted. Well, that is my point, never voted, but Linus never said "however, anyone can vote but we will not count the vote unless you are a developer", thats would be a nonsense, and a waste of time and bandwidth. > > This is infact what we have. But instead of one Linus we have everybody > that has ever contributed code to PEAR. I call that a pretty open voting > mechanism. Yes i agree, just active DEVELOPERS must (do we mean can?) vote, but analysis or opinions of anyone else is welcome to help decision. Regards S. Rocha
