I do not know in what way you got effected by my tryouts. Only thing I did
was to change the structure of my CVS directory yesterday, to proof if my
idea works. If it doesn't or is not accepted by the community, I will
definitly change that back.

There is not even a RFC on it. So a "decision" is in the wider future.

Is copying files really a _clean_ and _clear_ way of doing stuff?
