Your PAL is an interesting concept and also worth exploration. I'm still fuzzy on where the lines get drawn in all this but my goal is that I can go one place (pear.php.net) for PEAR and PEAR related things. To be clear, I'm not in need of a repository...it's already CVS'd and a project site is easy enough to create. I'd just like to see this as part of PEAR in some way...
We have PEAR and PECL, now may be a good time to think about having a PAL (PHP Application Library) that would provide PEAR package-based drop-in applications and frameworks? With the quality-control I the meantime sourceforge.net could be used as repository... -Philippe
