Some time ago I posted about the possiblities of including an MVC framework into PEAR.

I'd really like to see this added to PEAR as I think the benefits to large PHP applications is tremendous. Questions, concerns?
I think that it doesnt belong in PEAR since we are a repository of loosely organized libaries and not a framework, which is a tightly organized set of packages with the necessary glue. Its simply beyond the scope of this project.
We have PEAR and PECL, now may be a good time to think about having a PAL (PHP Application Library) that would provide PEAR package-based drop-in applications and frameworks? With the quality-control
Oooh ... that sounds interesting. All sorts of practical issues to be worked out there ... e.g., how much PEAR has to be used in the application for it to qualify? Would non-PEAR classes be allowed in the application-specific library? Would the entire application need to conform to PEAR CS? (And those are just off the top of my head.) PAL sounds like a neat idea, but might applications best be left to channels (when they arrive)? -- Paul M.
