FW: Oracle 8 on win2k

I am using Oracle 8.0.5 on a win2k (IIS5, php as exe attached) machine using
php4.0.1lp2 ( with the php_oci8.dll extention installed. )
After adding the extension to the php.ini file. php.exe hangs completely
even when no functions from the php_oci8.dll is called at all.
The php_oci8.dll is not locked and I have to kill php.exe manually. With
dependency walker I have seen that all dll are present.
When i comment the php_oci8.dll entry out in the php.ini file everyting
works fine...
Any suggestions anyone?
