I've been watching this thread for a week now, and I'm sure it can go for another two years. I have to put my 2 cents in. I totally I agree with you, Rick. Owen, seems to be into some pretty deep development, very important stuff I presume. Discover a major bug with ASP and discover one of same seriousness (<-- I don't think that's a word) with PHP. Owen, how long do you see yourself waiting with ASP and how long do you see yourself waiting with PHP? With ASP your life, livelyhood and everything else is in someone elses hands whereas PHP you're only limited by how 'dirty' you are willing to get your hands. Roll up those slevees and fix it yourself if worst comes to worst. Try doing that with ASP without going to jail. Mike -----Original Message----- From: R. P. The critical issue that you don't mention at all is the issue of using a cross-platform open source system versus using a proprietary limited platform one. No need nor room here to go over the tradeoffs in that decision, suffice it to say that we go the open source way, and feel that there are compelling reasons for doing so.
