Well, as is usually the case, I wrote it to itch a scratch I have. I'm
working on the next version of Geeklog (www.geeklog.net). This system
met our requirements for A&A. However, I saw a tremendous amount of value
in releasing this into PEAR. So, yes, I would like to see this as a PEAR
package. If you want to talk further about how this can be incorporated
into Mangler feel free to email me offline and I can talk more towards the
internals of the system.
