Ok great.
So we are now discussing a possible merge.
Again I want to say that I still have the luxery of being able to make
such a decision on purely technical basis and not based on the fact that
I have code that relies on LiveUser.

Yes.
One thing that has not been implemented in LiveUser is a mapping between
auth user id's and permission user id's. This is not all that difficult
todo but is imperative to ensure that both backends can be used without
modification (for example: Useraccount is maintained by Liberty Alliance
and Permission data is managed locally).
When I was saying that both projects could implement each other as a
container/provider I was just saying that both packages sound flexible
enough to support this. Theoretically :-)
Markus was very clean in his efforts until I and others started to add
stuff. That is why is nice documentation got out of wack a bit :-/
When I joined LiveUser I was just finished (after 1-2 months of planning
with an employee in my company) what sort of features we want. The
document is in german however :-/
I have written a list of features that the now sort of defunt DB_Complex
permission container had which can be found here:
http://projects.21st-hq.de/liveuser/about.htm
Arnaud might have some new docs to add to this and he just told me on
irc that your source looks clean ...
Anyways I will finishing eating and then I will check out your source
:-)
Regards,
Lukas
