I vote for branches in the CVS.

and i vote for maintaining the PHP4-PEAR for bugfixes but no new
features.
I think the question is, how far is PHP from the version 5. To know
when starting to branch off.
The current version of the ZE2 seems not to be at a beta state yet,
or am i wrong?
So we should not switch too soon, right?
