Hello,

I don't know what you mean by much older, but that is not much more than 6 months older as the PHP Classes site was started in the middle of 1999 and PEAR by the end of the same year.At least there they won't be rejected and have plenty of recognition and feedback because every new class that is posted there is not announced to about 50,000 subscribers that are eager to know about new classes.phpclasses is much more older than PEAR.
So you can't compare these numbers.I was not comparing any numbers because the PHP Classes site is not in any competition with PEAR, at least the way I see it. I even have offered to promote PEAR in the PHP Classes site as I see that there is an overlap of interests by the communities that use both projects. I believe that cooperation is the foundation for providing mutual benefit. If PEAR people is not interested in cooperation, ok never mind, at least I tried.
[From "PHP Magazin" issue 1/2003 (released in December) we'll have a corner in each issue (thanks to Alex Merz). This corner will reach more than 20,000 people in the german speaking area. So not much difference to your 50,000 :-)]I think you comparing oranges trees with the whole farm. You are talking about one people getting recognition for writing a column once every 3 months to a part of the PHP community. I am talking about of one site that publishes over 100 classes in the same 3 months from authors from any part of the world and gives the equal chance to hundreds of effective contributors to get immediate recognition and feedback about the work they contribute. I am not competing with you or anybody, but it doesn't seem that your comparision make much sense. -- Regards, Manuel Lemos
