I second the emacs motion!
Used emacs for many years now. It's quite a bugger to learn, but it is the
most powerful editor.
It may take a good deal of time to learn, but worth the effort, IMHO.
Authors of verious editors have implemented many, many, nice features, and
occiasionally, when I'm forced to use something other than emacs, I learn to
appreciate them.
I am very greatful, the community college I went to forced me to learn
emacs. They had a PRIME minicomputer which emacs was the *only* editor
available (aside from something like edlin).
I like vi/vim a lot to, but if serious editing is part of the job at hand,
I'll load up the kitchen sink.
